Fixin to test sight in soon as the rain lets off. Shot it one time after rough assembly. No front sight till yesterday ? So it was pointless to waste ammo. Will sight at 50 to check point of impact with the open sights. May have to change bolt handle because of location to my right hand under heavy recoil, and make a larger loop in the trigger guard. I've heard these two can be a painful issue. We'll see directly.

Just came in. Fired 4 rounds. windage is good. Shooting 8 to 10" high at 50 yards. Recoil manageable, Fairly sharp ? but not brutal. using a shooting stick. Looking GOOD. Am having some trigger guard contact on second knuckle, I can live with it. These are Hornady 400 grain DGX loads @ 2,400 F.P.S.....These aren't light loads. The fact I shot 4 rounds ? means the recoil is tolerable.....Everything held together. The sight hood even stayed on. I was sure it would fly off to parts unknow.

I went to the other end of the spectrum. I managed to semi get the 22-250 sighted in today. The master of all things rode me to the range in my truck and spotted for me since I couldn't hop 100yds back and forth. You have never lived until you let your wife do this for you. She holds her finger and thumb apart and says "it's about this much over that away and a little bit high."
Lawdhepme I'll be glad when this foot gets to where I can walk again. I was going to take the spotting scope with us but it took her so long to change shoes, pants, feed the dog and get my car keys I was afraid I would have to set outside till tomorrow morning so I just used what I had. If she had walked any slower back and forth she would have been backing up.
At any rate I when I finished I was about 2 inches high at 100yd and shooting a 1 inch group. Not as good as the 25-06 but I was shooting factory federal ammo. If I can get her to start at 1:00 pm maybe I can shoot by 4pm and try a couple more brands tomorrow----maybe, not likely but maybe.
