Ok lets play the game Guess the gun. I had a guy stop by today and brought in a Mossberg 500A and wants the stock taken off of it and put on this. Problem is what is this ? It ain't a Mossberg. No markings except 12 gauge 3 inch on the barrel.BC2E8CE9-03B0-4D39-8BD6-81138EC956A4_1_105_c.jpeg52CDF5C3-1D39-4348-82DD-EA4406ADC7C5_1_105_c.jpeg52CDF5C3-1D39-4348-82DD-EA4406ADC7C5_1_105_c.jpeg51207590-4532-435F-BC8D-ED2F09929288_1_105_c.jpegC2013514-0408-43C6-9491-C35AF609CFD8_1_105_c.jpegEC141165-06C9-4222-88F7-66E604FAA0F4_1_105_c.jpeg5A72C692-98AD-4043-A2D5-5490CD65CF56_1_105_c.jpeg8BF18661-D3FE-477F-91A9-136B6CE93F99_1_105_c.jpeg

It almost looks like an 870 but the safety is wrong. 870 is in the back of the trigger guard and this is on the front. I really don't want to start taking stuff off of this thing like the scope mount. It's been cut off but it's 18 1/2 so it's legal and whoever cut it did a pretty good job.

Yeah, I took the scope mount off today and saw it was a Maverick. I also got the trigger group in my lap when I took the pistol grip off and dropped one of the guide rails in the floor when I took the scope mount off and had to go all the way back up to the house to get my glasses to see to get the guide rails and get the trigger group back in.

You are very close. This is a one of a kind sitting in the NRA museum that William Ruger designed because he loved the Savage 99. He made a prototype in semi auto of the 99 but it actually had extraction issues so Savage denied the production of it. W. Ruger then set off a long with Sturm and started their own company 75 years ago. 10 years after the 99 was introduced.

I thought it was a Savage, or kin thereto, because of the stock but I couldn't figure out what model. I thought it was a pump but I didn't know.

I'm gonna try this and see what happens---probably nothing. This particular gun has a problem getting the safety to stand up. Maybe needs Viagra. SHIT I wanted to put a video on here but it won't let me.

Looks pregnant. I hope it wasn't the 10-22 that did it. There is already 427 different little baby 10-22's running around everywhere.

You are right Krp. Someone took a 44 carbine and made it a pmp action. The "deerslayer" was only written on the first year production. ithaca sued Ruger for having that on the carbine because Ithaca already had the rights to it. The courts made Ruger remove the word from their gun. The guns that have deerslayer written on them bring more a premium. I had the chance to get one and waited two days to go back and get it but it was already gone.

Figure this out double. Krp already knows because we are pricing some stuff that came itto the store.

Looks like a redfield scope. Also looks like some kind of Sako but the stock doesn't look right. Custom? I do see a TC contender in the case!

TC Contender is right but you are way away on custom for the rifle. It's not a Redfield scope. We got several guns from this estate and I can tell you the guy was NOT a fan of expensive optics, and by expensive I mean 20 dollars and up. It's a tough one on the rifle and they haven't had any of these around for a long time. I will tell you it is a 243 caliber. I bet you saw some of them when you were a kid though.

TC is 357 cal. You are on the right track with the 243. It's kinda rough but I'm gonna clean it up some before the gun show. It is what it is at this point but I still think it's kinda neat. Reminds me of stuff I use to stand at the store and drool over and wondered if I ever would have enough money to get one of these fine firearms. I don't know the manufacturer per say but I sure remember the folks it was made for. It looked a little like a Savage to me. Krp is working on grading it.47E7F9BF-3885-4035-A738-0B5BB4E367A5_1_105_c.jpeg
