Things to share

Welllllll I did something new today. I went up to work on the vinyl on Allisons and got about an hour into it and was cutting vinyl on a cut board I set up. I got the pieces cut and THOUGHT I had hung the saw on a nail on the saw horses and I missed. The guard of course stuck. The saw hit the ground. The saw then ran across my foot and the short of it is I get to go see an Orthopedic Dr tomorrow about reconnecting the tendon on my big toe. The good news is the bastard didn't get to the bone but it cut a helluva gap across my big toe.

Linda took me to Shelby county emergency room and I sat in the parking lot dripping blood for 25 minutes and we couldn't get anybody to even bring a wheel chair and something to stop the blood. Linda went in and told them they should knock the building down and build something someone could use there --like a hospital. We then drove to Clanton hospital where they took me right in x-rayed the toe to make sure I hadn't hit the bone. Checked the tendon and found I had cut that so they cleaned it, gave me a tetanus shot, made me an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon for tomorrow, stitched me up, called in an antibiotic prescription gave me a neto adjustable flip flop and sent me home. If I had stayed at Shelby I would still be sitting in the truck bleeding.

Until the toe tendon is fixed I now have a case of the flop toe on top of everything else.
 
And that is one reason I don't want to do any heavy work right now. Somebody might get hurt and it will probably be me.

That tendon will take forever to heal and probably will not work right again. Hope it works out and take a break for your sake.
 
I know one thing for shore. I didn't hurt when I did it but it damn sure hurt all night. It felt like someone hit me with a cattle prod in the foot all night and it's not much better this morning.
 
Went to see the surgeon today, he walked in the room asked to look at my toe, said we can fix that and walked out. I get surgery next Monday. He didn't seem to care too much that Monday will be over a week since I committed toeacide. If I croak I leave my 25-06 to NOBODY !!!! I'm taking it with me. I got a couple of 22's y'all can have, but the 6.5x55 Mauser and the 25-06 Savage go with me.
 
I am not trying to worry you Belve but years ago in my 20s I had tendon surgery on both feet. I had really flat feet and my arches kept "falling" and it was getting so bad that it was hard to walk. What the surgeon did was cut (separated) the tendon that runs from the heal that goes the distance of the foot to all the toes. I was in a wheel chair for 6 weeks. I will say that that was the worst pain I have ever had to endure in my life. The pain was so bad that I actually passed out a few times during that 6 weeks. On an ending note.....it was the best thing that I could have done to help the issue. No problems after that.
Your issue I hope wont be as severe as what I had to go through but they have come a long way with surgeries now and hope yours turn out well.

If mine gives me any trouble I'll just have them take the damn thing off and I'll wear it around my neck on a chain. Hopefully this isn't going to be a major surgery. Course I had the finger croaker work on my index trigger finger and it still hasn't worked right. It's better that it was after he did it but not as good as it was before he dug around on it. It has kinda gone through my mind to just leave the thing as it is. The cut is healing pretty well and apart from it throbbing at night and being sore as a risin I can manage pretty well walking on it.
Linda and I went to meet with the State Auditor this morning about setting up a political action committee for BamaCarry. I did ok walking but going up those damn steps into the capitol building sucked. Going down was worse, until I got the hang of stepping down first with my good foot and then balancing on my ill afflicted one on the same step while I stepped down again on the good one. I'm moving slow but I'm moving.
 
I don't know what I got now. The Dr put a pin in to keep everything tied together and I have to go back tomorrow and he is gonna unveil the mess and make a boot so that in two weeks I can start putting weight on my foot and semi walking. He said it will take about 6-8 weeks until the pin comes out and it will be 90% healed if all goes well. Now I have to let Linda take me hunting or she won't let me go. It was my understanding that I can't drive with the boot on so I'm trapped. I'm gonna ask again tomorrow if that's right
 
Got close to giving you a Frankentoe. Wonder iffn it's sticking out the end like a horn ? Be plumb handy fer kickin someone in the nads.

Handy work ? Looks like a snappin turtle bit it that had worms. I could sew better'n that when I was dead drunk .
 
hell....I get pedicures. I cant reach my toes so I have to. Nothing wrong with an Oriental chick rubbing your feet. ;) Dont knock it if you don't try it.
 
Sorry Fellers, Iffn I'm going to have a Oriental woman rubbin on me ? Ain't gonna be my feet.
But I know what yer sayin. Had a massage once, Did the normal routine ? weren't much impressed. Did my hands ? I about shit. DAMN did that feel GOOD.
 
Well I'm back and I have my brand new SPACE BOOT !!! This thing is great I can walk and not sound like I 3E7A74BE-0D75-4FC6-9714-CF33788AE6A6_1_105_c.jpeg can walk without sounding like I have Tourette's. The reason it looks so rough is that he had to make two more incisions to get to the tendons. There ain't much toe left when he got through, but he said he got it all tied back together and to come back in two weeks. The pin is going to have to stay at least 4 weeks and maybe 6 depending on how fast it heals BUT I can hunt in the magic space boot.
